April 1, 2020: Tracy and Marissa join the lab!
Tracy and Marissa have officially joined the lab for their PhD studies! Both join us from the Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Program. Welcome!
Dec 11, 2019: New grant from NJCSCR!
We have been awarded an exploratory research grant from the New Jersey Commission on Spinal Cord Research! This two-year grant will fund our efforts to break into the field of traumatic spinal cord injury, studying roles for inflammatory astrocyte activation during the pathogenesis of trauma.
Sep 4, 2019: Medha and Po join the lab!
Medha and Po are both undergraduate students joining the lab through the Aresty Research Assistants program. Welcome!
Sep 1, 2019: Nydia joins the lab!
Nydia has officially joined the lab for her dissertation studies. Nydia is our first PhD student!
June 25, 2019: First grant awarded!
We have been awarded our very first grant by the American Parkinson's Disease Association! This one-year grant will allow us to establish an exciting new line of investigation in the lab focused on roles for RIPK signaling in promoting pathogenic astrocyte activation during Parkinson's Disease.
June 12, 2019: Hahram Kim starts summer internship!
Hahram is a rising sophomore at Amherst College who will be spending the summer with us working on a project examining excitotoxic injury in astrocytes. Hahram is supported by the Meiklejohn fellowship program at Amherst. Welcome Hahram!
April 24, 2019: Aisha receives summer fellowship!
Aisha was selected for a highly competitive summer fellowship by the Rutgers Division of Life Sciences! This fellowship will fund her summer project in the lab. Aisha is currently studying roles for cell death signaling in astrocytes in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's Disease.
Mar 8, 2019: Brian receives AAI Travel Grant!
Brian received an Early Career Faculty Travel Grant to attend the American Association of Immunologists annual meeting this year in San Diego. Our first award!
Feb 1, 2019: Srija Indukuri and Winnie Wong join the lab!
Srija and Winnie are both Cell Biology and Neuroscience majors who are joining the lab as undergraduate interns. Welcome!
Jan 28, 2019: Nydia Chang starts rotation!
Nydia is a PhD student in the Neuroscience program at Rutgers. She is our first rotation student! Here she is performing the very first Daniels Lab experiment!
Nov 20, 2018: Aisha Patel joins the lab!
Aisha will start an internship in the lab in February 2019. Aisha is a Cell Biology and Neuroscience major in the Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program.
Oct 23, 2018: Colm Atkins joins the lab!
Colm Atkins will join the lab in February 2019 as our lab manager and resident virologist. Colm comes to the lab following postdoctoral work with Alex Freiberg at the University of Texas Medical Branch. You can find Colm on twitter.
